Dr. Kyle Faust is happy to provide help for individuals seeking personal growth, mental well-being or behavior change (such as reducing gaming or technology use). He can also assist you with legal, business or corporate consultative services.

About Dr. Kyle Faust

Dr. Faust is a licensed clinical psychologist at MGH and an instructor at Harvard Medical School. He provides services for the Addiction Recovery Management Services and the Child Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. He is also the director of the Digital Addiction and Gambling Treatment Program. In addition to teaching/research responsibilities, he provides individual and group therapy for a wide variety of psychological diagnoses. He provides therapy services in MA and RI and can provide virtual sessions in nearly every state (please reach out to Dr. Faust if you'd like to see if he can provide therapy services in your state).

Dr. Faust has worked in a wide variety of treatment settings including private practices, university counseling centers, hospitals, residential treatment settings and VA's. He's also worked in a legal consulting practice focusing on evaluating neuropsychological and mental health assessments and provided consultative services for Johns Hopkins Medical School applying gaming interventions for individuals with ASD. Dr. Faust worked and trained at reSTART, the first treatment setting in the United States developed specifically for treating clients and families struggling with Gaming Disorder. He has provided services for clients of many different backgrounds, ages, and diagnoses/various life difficulties. 

Further, Dr. Faust has expertise in a wide variety of treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, the Unified Protocol, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Existential Approaches. These evidence based approaches allow Dr. Faust to provide top quality care. 

Although Dr. Faust can provide treatment for nearly any presenting concerns, he specializes in Gaming Disorder/Technology Overuse, PTSD, Depression, OCD and Anxiety Disorders. His training allows him to tailor his approach based on what he/clients feel will work best for them. Dr. Faust believes in working collaboratively together with clients to develop their goals, utilize their strengths, develop insight into difficulties, create additional meaning in life, and succeed in making the life changes they're striving for.

Additionally, Dr. Faust has published many peer reviewed articles, particularly on the positive and negative aspects of digital technology. He also co-authored and edited The Oxford Handbook of Digital Technologies and Mental Health (which can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Handbook-Digital-Technologies-LIBRARY-PSYCHOLOGY-ebook/dp/B08HDJRYNZ). Dr. Faust also worked with his research mentor, Dr. James Prochaska, who was a world leading expert in behavior change and the creator of the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change. This model was essential to the development of Motivational Interviewing.
